    FUND-RAISING

    Friendly, Fierce Competition
    Raises $42,000 During Spirit Week

Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County extends its heartfelt thanks for the wonderful outpouring of spirit and spirited competition during the 2008 Raise the Roof Spirit Week.

Together, Reynolds and Mount Tabor high schools raised $41,953 -- almost three times as much as last year. Congratulations to Reynolds for raising $18,983, and to all who participated in competitions, restaurant nights and other events! Special thanks go to RJR Committee co-Chairs Margie Pearce and Bonnie Flythe as well as to the youth leaders.

It was exciting to see the leadership and commitment from the high-school kids in planning the week's events and in supporting our Youth United efforts.

The real winners of the 2008 Spirit Week are the Habitat families who will benefit by working on their homes alongside our youth, and in doing so build a new future for themselves and their children. Thanks for making that a reality for these well-deserving families!

    RJ Reynolds Legacy Campaign

Please be on the lookout for your RJR Legacy Campaign package, scheduled for mailing in early August. For the second year, the RJR PTSA and Booster Club will combine their fund-raising effort into a single campaign in support of our school’s excellence in academics, athletics, arts, diversity and civic responsibility. Your donation will also automatically cover your PTSA dues for the year.

Hundreds of generous supporters last year helped RJR meet many needs that are not covered by normal school funding. The Legacy brochure highlights some noteworthy accomplishments at our school, while outlining ongoing needs that require our financial support.

In appreciation for your support, giving at various levels will entitle you to receive valuable benefits, including admission to many school events. Responding early with your gift will insure that you can take full advantage of these rewards.

This will be the only time you will be asked for support this school year. Your contributions will help continue the traditions of excellence that make R. J. Reynolds great.
