Congratulations to the following student-athletes who were named All-Conference in the Central Piedmont 4-A Conference:
  • Men's Varsity Basketball: David Hinton and Kendall Wicks

  • Women's Varsity Basketball: Charity Britton and Coach Monty Gray

  • Men's Swimming: Daniel Basler (Swimmer of the Year), Tommy Healy, Ryan Johnson, Jovi Kovacsi, Coach John Pence

  • Women's Swimming: Anna Blackburn, Anna Bullock, Michelle Healy, Caitlin O'Sullivan and Anna Ratana

  • Wrestling: Duncan Miller, Sam Porterfield and Kevin Taylor (Midwest Champion; 8th place in State)

  • Students wishing to participate in athletics at R.J. Reynolds High School need to have completed the WSFCS Participation and Physical Examination form and provide a birth certificate.

R.J. Reynolds High School is a member of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) and therefore subscribes to the rules found within the organization's handbook. A copy of this handbook can be found in the offices of the principal and athletic director.

R.J. Reynolds competes in the Central Piedmont 4A Athletic Conference. Other teams in the conference include Davie County, Mount Tabor, North Davidson, North Forsyth and West Forsyth.

R.J. Reynolds High School offers the following sports: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, Winter Track and Wrestling.

A student must have passed a minimum of five (5) credits during the previous semester in order to be eligible for competition. In addition, WSFCS School Policy 6145 requires that all student-athletes earn a 2.0 quality-point average (QPA) during the previous nine-week grading period.

A student-athlete must have been in attendance for at least 85 percent of the previous term at an approved high school to be eligible for participation. The student-athlete may not participate in practice or a game if he or she has been absent from school on that particular day.

Each student-athlete must get a physical examination by a duly licensed phusician, physician's assistant or nurse practitioner each year prior to the beginning of practice.

Upon entering the 9th grade, a student is eligible for competition on high-school athletic teams during the succeeding eight consecutive semesters, provided such student does not reach his or her 19th birthday on or before October 16 of the school year in question.

Any student-athlete who: 1) is convicted of a crime classified as a felony under North Carolina or federal law, or 2) is adjudicated delinquent for an offense that would be a felony if committed by an adult, is not eligible to participate in the NCHSAA sports program. Such ineligibility shall be immediate and shall prohibit participation in the NCHSAA sports program from the date of conviction through the end of the student's high-school career.
