Mission
To support R.J. Reynolds athletic teams by promoting sportsmanship, enthusiasm cooperation, and pride among the student body as well as the surrounding community.

Membership
Membership on a R.J. Reynolds High School cheerleading team offers a unique opportunity for personal growth, leadership and involvement in diverse activities. The attitude, dedication and enthusiasm of the team members are just as important as the skills involved in cheerleading.

Members of the R.J. Reynolds High School cheerleading teams are selected through an established tryout procedure on the basis of recommendations from the school system guidelines. Members must be committed to the highest level of performance, self-discipline, and respect for their school and community. Furthermore, RJR cheerleaders are expected to maintain academic excellence and integrity at all times.

Practices
Practices start the last week of June and will continue through March (10 month commitment). Cheerleaders must attend all scheduled practices, including summer practices unless there is a valid reason. All team members are required to attend one tumbling class per week, specific to their tumbling level.
